It’s about a RELATIONSHIP…not just a religion!

Today I am going to talk about why that being a Christian is Really Not just a religion but it is a Relationship. I will use some scriptures to help.

Christianity is not a Religion Bumper Stickers

Society today has really changed what being a “Christian” really is. Today a lot of people will accept the “title” of being a Christian and not following through with the actions. Some will even fall into being “religious” and still not do the actions in which a “true Christian” should do.

I have talked to several people as well as heard people say that they were Christians. You ask them, “Do you believe in God?” they say yes. You ask ,” You believe in Jesus and that He died on the cross and rose out of the grave?” some will say yes. Now if you ask them if they think that they would go to Heaven if they died right then, most will say they don’t know or no but that they would like to hope that they would. They have been asked if they read their bibles, pray, or go to church, most say  only when they are in trouble or feel that they need to or just said no.

How can you be a Christian if you aren’t doing these things. The answer is you CAN’T. All of that is just being “Religious” it is a False Hope. With that being said you shouldn’t put the label of Christian on you unless you truly want to fall into what a CHRISTIAN is supposed to do.

Being a true Christian is about a RELATIONSHIP not religion. Because religion can fade away but a relationship with God will not if you follow what He has told you. Also, religion can be taken away by others. A relationship is a personal private thing between you and God and nobody can take that away from you.

Being in a relationship requires work on both sides. Being religious will tell you God does all the work and you just receive everything and do nothing but just ask. Having a relationship is work. It isn’t always easy or pleasant just like our physical relationships with people. But, we give and take  from God and He will give and take from us. It is like I said once a marriage. You have to be intimate and communicate. You will spend time with the one you love and cherish. You will talk to them and share everything with them and love them. Also, if it is a good healthy marriage they will become One and really act and think just like one person instead of two. This is how are relationship is supposed to be with God.

Romans 5:8-11

(v.8)But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (v.9)And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. (v.10)For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. (v.11)So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.

This shows us that it is an actual RELATIONSHIP!

Church As We Know It…

The Christians of  North America are so lax on how they should do things. We are to be out doing stuff for Christ not just on Sunday go to “Church” and do my weekly duty…no it is far more great than that. This thing that is called Christianity is NOT a religion it is a LIFESTYLE . The “Church” today has made it into something that it is truly not. The word “Church” is not supposed to refer to a building for worship/religious gatherings. It is us(the people/ the Christians) we are the Church, not a building and it’s not a place you can go. We live in a culture where it is all about you and yourself, your ways and desires who cares about anything or anybody else as long as it is what you want. We are to be out teaching, preaching, healing, and doing signs and wonders like it is a normal thing. Because in all truth, it is Normal. We have been so shut off and down by the government, the church, entertainment, and so much more. It is so much easier to say you believe in something and do absolutely nothing about and be happy as society determines happy and go on about life living as you want. Most of those people are NEVER truly happy. There is something that they are always seeking and the answer is right before their very eyes. That’s Jesus and a relationship with Him, what Christianity is supposed to be.We are to be out to disciple the nations.

Matthew 28:19 (NLT) Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Luke 10:9 (NLT) Heal the sick, and tell them, ‘The Kingdom of God is near you now.’

Rely On God For It All…

God will never put more on us than we can handle. Sometimes it is very hard and it seems like it is just too much. But, we have to remember that He won’t put more on us than we can handle. We have to keep pushing ourselves to fight the old flesh(human nature) that says when it gets ruff to just quit and take the easy way out. Also, as we go through these things we are growing and gaining faith and other things that we need to help us with our walk with Christ. So, just trust in God and He will bring you through it, you just have to believe that He will do it.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (New Living Translation)
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

2 Thessalonians 1:7 (New Living Translation)
And God will provide rest for you who are being persecuted and also for us when the Lord Jesus appears from heaven. He will come with his mighty angels,

Worry…a lot of people do a whole lot of this. Even some Christians worry. We are not suppose to worry. Worry shows a lack of faith in God and what He has promised to do for us. It can be hard in the world we live today with all the bills and things, but He said He will provide us with our needs. We might not always have the things we would want (our extras) but we never do without, if we are relying on Him.  He wants to provide us with our needs and even some of our wants if we will truly trust Him and put Him in charge. Instead of worrying about stuff and trying to fix it our way. For His way is greater than ours.

Philippians 4:6 (New Living Translation)
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

2 Corinthians 9:8 (New Living Translation)

And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.

2 Corinthians 9:10 (New Living Translation)
For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.

Matthew 6:25 (New Living Translation)

“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life–whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?

Do You Promise?

Promises, promises, promises. Lord I promise…Why do we ask God to help or deliver us,just to receive it from God and then they run. God draws us and we answer that call. Then we decide this isn’t what I want to do. So we go ahead and let a little sin creep in and we are fine with it. It don’t convict us because we have put up blinders on our eyes. We have made too many things more important than God for far too long. Most people think in life the most important things are: money, family, jobs, cars, etc… but these things will all fade away. In Ecclesiastes 5 it talks about us making promises to God.

Ecclesiastes 5:4-6 (NLT)

v.4 So when you make a promise to God, don’t delay in following through, for God takes no pleasure in fools. Keep all the promises you make to him.

v.5 It is better to say nothing than to promise something that you don’t follow through on.

v.6 In such cases, your mouth is making you sin. And don’t defend yourself by telling the Temple messenger that the promise you made was a mistake. That would make God angry, and he might wipe out everything you have achieved.

So, we need to put God first. There are many Christians who put God second or third or even further back on their list because they are living after the flesh out of their own desires and not God’s.

Jeremiah 2:20-22 (NLT)

v20 “Long ago I broke the yoke that oppressed you and tore away the chains of your slavery, but still you said,’I will not serve you.’ On every hill and under every green tree, you have prostituted yourselves by bowing down to idols.

v21 But I was the one who planted you, choosing a vine of the purest stock-the very best. How did you grow into this corrupt wild vine?

v22 No amount of soap or lye can make you clean. I still see the strain of your guilt. I, the Sovereign Lord. have spoken!

I hope that this wasn’t the state you are in but if so I hope that this has helped and opened your eyes. God is not a play pretty. He is an almighty and powerful God, who doesn’t tolerate foolishness. So please serve God fully. Make Him your number 1!

Joy, Become Joyous!

There is so much Joy in the Lord. We can’t even express it right because there is so much joy. We can praise Him with our song, dance, praise, and prayers. Yet still, it seems like that still doesn’t justify Him like we want it to. But, regardless Praise Him and Honor Him because He has and is giving us so much to be joyous about. He will always be there for you. You just have to choose not to leave Him. He will mend all the hurt and pain. So many people are walking around brokenhearted when they should have joy, even Christians. But, it is time to turn it over to Jesus, say, here is all the pain, suffering, heaviness, and all the things that made me brokenhearted. Give them to Him and don’t look back on them. Instead think about Jesus and all the joy He is now able to fill you up with now that you have emptied yourself out for Him. There is freedom in God and in the joy that He brings.

Psalm 34 :1-22(New Living Translation)

1I will praise the LORD at all times.I will constantly speak his praises.

2I will boast only in the LORD;let all who are helpless take heart.

3Come, let us tell of the LORD’s greatness;let us exalt his name together.

4I prayed to the LORD, and he answered me.He freed me from all my fears.

5Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;no shadow of shame will darken their faces.

6In my desperation I prayed, and the LORD listened;he saved me from all my troubles.

7For the angel of the LORD is a guard;he surrounds and defends all who fear him.

8Taste and see that the LORD is good.Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!

9Fear the LORD, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need.

10Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the LORD will lack no good thing.

11Come, my children, and listen to me,and I will teach you to fear the LORD.

12Does anyone want to live a life that is long and prosperous?

13Then keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies!

14Turn away from evil and do good.Search for peace, and work to maintain it.

15The eyes of the LORD watch over those who do right;his ears are open to their cries for help.

16But the LORD turns his face against those who do evil;he will erase their memory from the earth.

17The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help.He rescues them from all their troubles.

18The LORD is close to the brokenhearted;he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

19The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.

20For the LORD protects the bones of the righteous;not one of them is broken!

21Calamity will surely overtake the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be punished.

22But the LORD will redeem those who serve him.No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.

God Is Faithful

We  should be happy in serving Jesus Christ. Jesus did so much for us.We know that as Christians we are going to suffer and be persecuted for what we believe. But, it is all for the greater glory. All of this will glorify God and we will receive an eternal reward that is far great than any earthly reward. We have to stay focused on Jesus and His ways. Live our lives according to His word and after His example( a life of holiness).

2 Timothy 2:8-14(New Living Translation)

8Always remember that Jesus Christ, a descendant of King David, was raised from the dead. This is the Good News I preach. 9And because I preach this Good News, I am suffering and have been chained like a criminal. But the word of God cannot be chained.10So I am willing to endure anything if it will bring salvation and eternal glory in Christ Jesus to those God has chosen.

11This is a trustworthy saying:If we die with him,we will also live with him.

12If we endure hardship,we will reign with him.If we deny him,he will deny us.

13If we are unfaithful,he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is.

14Remind everyone about these things, and command them in God’s presence to stop fighting over words. Such arguments are useless, and they can ruin those who hear them.

Do You Have Peace?

A lot of people in this world are looking for peace in their lives. Do you have peace in your life? There is so many ways that people go about trying to find peace.Isaiah 59:8 (New Living Translation)They don’t know where to find peace or what it means to be just and good. They have mapped out crooked roads, and no one who follows them knows a moment’s peace. The only way to receive true peace is through Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (New Living Translation)Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.

To receive peace from Jesus you must give Him your heart and life. You must repent of your sins and admit that you were a sinner and ask Jesus into your heart and life. You want to feel the love, peace, and joy that He has to offer. Colossians 3:15 (New Living Translation)And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

How Is Your Line?

The Lord is angry at His people. He desires more of them and they give Him less. God‘s people are turning their backs on Him. We should strive daily to get more of God in us and less of us. We should strive to have the highest relationship with God. God is angry that His people have let the devil slip in and take a hold on them. Telling them “Oh, this is alright to read or watch because it’s not real and you know it’s pretend, there’s no harm in it”. But yes, there is  God told us to cut ourselves off from the things of this world and focus on Him and heavenly things. (colossians3:2) “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” The church(which is us Christians)have let God down in a big way. We have put stuff up between us and God. This has made it difficult for a true powerful connection. There are knots, kinks, and cuts in our line to God, if we are doing the things that we shouldn’t. The devil is cunning you see. He figures if he can trick or blind the church (the Christians) and get us to accept things that are witchcraft and demonic and play it off like it is nothing. Then, it won’t bother us and our conscience to continue in these footsteps until we wake up and we are totally lost with the rest of the world. We are to be Christ-like. Christ didn’t have time to do anything but the will of His Father(God).Which was to share the Word of God with everyone. We have the same power and authority as Jesus did (if we are true born again believers). Because, He lives in us and He said greater things than these will you do. The reason we can’t is because of US.  We have beat ourselves out of the power of God. We should be out doing signs, wonders, and miracles. But, we have allowed the devil to blind us and pin us down and say,” that’s  not real, that kind of stuff don’t happen today”. Well, the devil is a lie. Because, my God has and never will lie. It is just up to us to get the old line to God ripped out and put in a fresh new sturdy one, also to put guards up around it, so it remains pure. We need to stop living how we want to live and live how God wants us to live! Anything that we put before God is wrong! It could be anything such as: food, clothes, phones, internet, books, TV,friends, family, boyfriend or  girlfriend, sports, spouses, kids, or other things.

In Colossians 3:1-10(NLT) it says:

1Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand.

2Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.

3For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.

4And when Christ, who is youra life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.

5So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.

6Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming.

7You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world.

8But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language.

9Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds.

10Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.

The Mind Of Christ!

The Mind Of Christ. This is something very important, that us as Christians have seemed to overlooked, maybe not all of us but a lot of us have.We were not even meaning to.We all need to have the mind of Christ, because if we have the mind of Christ we will only do the will of God. God is wanting His people to awaken from their old ways and mindsets and change to His. Awakening means to literally becoming like Christ.”YOU” have completely died and Christ is coming alive in you! This is when God controls your thoughts and actions. We should die out daily and seek to be in a spiritual state always. We were created to stay in the spiritual it wasn’t until Adam sinned that we became fleshly/carnal. We need renewal of the mind. With the mind of Christ nothing is impossible. Jesus Christ knew no failure and we are to be the same. We have the same abilities that He did and does. If we have doubt that could hinder the things that God is wanting to do.Christ was crucified on Golgotha which means the place of the skull, and that execution stake(the cross) was drove down into the top of that hill. This is a representation that we are tothe old mind and put on the mind of Christ.
