It’s about a RELATIONSHIP…not just a religion!

Today I am going to talk about why that being a Christian is Really Not just a religion but it is a Relationship. I will use some scriptures to help.

Christianity is not a Religion Bumper Stickers

Society today has really changed what being a “Christian” really is. Today a lot of people will accept the “title” of being a Christian and not following through with the actions. Some will even fall into being “religious” and still not do the actions in which a “true Christian” should do.

I have talked to several people as well as heard people say that they were Christians. You ask them, “Do you believe in God?” they say yes. You ask ,” You believe in Jesus and that He died on the cross and rose out of the grave?” some will say yes. Now if you ask them if they think that they would go to Heaven if they died right then, most will say they don’t know or no but that they would like to hope that they would. They have been asked if they read their bibles, pray, or go to church, most say  only when they are in trouble or feel that they need to or just said no.

How can you be a Christian if you aren’t doing these things. The answer is you CAN’T. All of that is just being “Religious” it is a False Hope. With that being said you shouldn’t put the label of Christian on you unless you truly want to fall into what a CHRISTIAN is supposed to do.

Being a true Christian is about a RELATIONSHIP not religion. Because religion can fade away but a relationship with God will not if you follow what He has told you. Also, religion can be taken away by others. A relationship is a personal private thing between you and God and nobody can take that away from you.

Being in a relationship requires work on both sides. Being religious will tell you God does all the work and you just receive everything and do nothing but just ask. Having a relationship is work. It isn’t always easy or pleasant just like our physical relationships with people. But, we give and take  from God and He will give and take from us. It is like I said once a marriage. You have to be intimate and communicate. You will spend time with the one you love and cherish. You will talk to them and share everything with them and love them. Also, if it is a good healthy marriage they will become One and really act and think just like one person instead of two. This is how are relationship is supposed to be with God.

Romans 5:8-11

(v.8)But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (v.9)And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. (v.10)For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. (v.11)So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.

This shows us that it is an actual RELATIONSHIP!

It’s about unconditional love <3 Beloved<3

I know that people really don’t believe in unconditional love. But, it does exist. I would like to share more on that. I am going to start by talking about being beloved.

I am going to explain the word BELOVED: as it is mentioned in the Bible. God said that we are His beloved, that is so deep and stirring.

Beloved in Hebrew-הֶאָהוּב (he-ahuv)

in Hebrew means ‘beloved’ literally (derived from the root ’hb, ‘love’.) It is often used of people but can be used of other things too. A common pet name for one’s lover is ahuvi (m) or ahuvati (f), ‘my ahuv’. Works nicely in literary or informal contexts. This word, additionally, is the one that could stand on its own (as an adjective standing for a noun) the best. (Definite: he-ahuv.)

Beloved in Greek-Agapetos

in Greek means beloved, esteemed, dear, favourite, worthy of love

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. 1 John 3:1-2 ESV

One of my favorite words in the Bible is the word beloved. It doesn’t appear in every version, but I think it’s a correct word for a key principle God is trying to teach us about His kind of love.

Often one of the hardest things for a person to do is to accept unconditional love. Perhaps it’s because the world is so void of that kind of love. The world often displays a love that is contingent on the recipient’s behavior or form of repayment of the love. It is a give and take kind of love…a “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours” kind of trade-off for love. Sadly, many marriages share this kind of conditional love, where spouses agree to love each other as long as they are given equal or greater love in exchange.

That is not at all, however, the love of God the Bible teaches. The word beloved in the previous verse literally means “ beloved, esteemed, dear, favorite, worthy of love”. It’s a word indicating an action on the part of the one doing the loving. The God of the universe, the same God who paints a sunset, shapes a mountain and plans the waves at the beach, has chosen to love us, not because of who we are, but because of who He is. Our role in this is to BE-LOVED.

Are you struggling to accept that kind of unconditional love? Have the circumstances of life caused you to question God’s love? Will you do me a favor? Take some time today to read Job chapters 38-42. Job was experiencing more heartache than any person should ever experience and he was questioning his situation and ultimately God’s love for him at the time. In these chapters, God answers his dilemma. It’s a challenging and encouraging read.

You and I may never fully comprehend the love of God, but for today we can be encouraged that we have been called “beloved” and we can anticipate learning about and receiving more of His kind of love.

In the New Testament “beloved” used exclusively of Divine and Christian love, an affection begotten in the community of the new spiritual life in Christ, e.g. “beloved in the Lord” (Romans 16:8). The beauty, unity, endearment of this love is historically unique, being peculiarly Christian. “Brethren” in Christ are “beloved” (1 Thessalonians 1:4 1; Corinthians 15:58 ;James 1:16; James 2:5). Many individuals are specified by name: Timothy (2 Timothy 1:2); Philemon (Philemon 1:1); Amplias, Urbane, Stachys, Persis (Romans 16:8, 9, 12), etc. The aged John is the conspicuous New Testament illustration of the depth and tenderness of Christian love. In his epistles alone he addresses his disciples 12 times as “beloved.” Paul terms “God’s elect” “holy and beloved” (Colossians 3:12).

The term rises to still Diviner significance as an epithet of Christ, whom Paul, grateful for His “freely bestowed” grace, terms “the Beloved.” This is the word used repeatedly to express God the Father‘s infinite affection for Jesus His “beloved Son” (Matthew 3:17; Matthew 12:18; Matthew 17:5 Mark 1:11; Mark 9:7 Luke 3:22; Luke 20:13).

So through it all remember that you are loved deeply and unconditionally. Times and things might not always be easy or appear that you are not alone in this life. But, I can tell you from my life and experiences that God is always there even when we can’t see or feel Him.

Church As We Know It…

The Christians of  North America are so lax on how they should do things. We are to be out doing stuff for Christ not just on Sunday go to “Church” and do my weekly duty…no it is far more great than that. This thing that is called Christianity is NOT a religion it is a LIFESTYLE . The “Church” today has made it into something that it is truly not. The word “Church” is not supposed to refer to a building for worship/religious gatherings. It is us(the people/ the Christians) we are the Church, not a building and it’s not a place you can go. We live in a culture where it is all about you and yourself, your ways and desires who cares about anything or anybody else as long as it is what you want. We are to be out teaching, preaching, healing, and doing signs and wonders like it is a normal thing. Because in all truth, it is Normal. We have been so shut off and down by the government, the church, entertainment, and so much more. It is so much easier to say you believe in something and do absolutely nothing about and be happy as society determines happy and go on about life living as you want. Most of those people are NEVER truly happy. There is something that they are always seeking and the answer is right before their very eyes. That’s Jesus and a relationship with Him, what Christianity is supposed to be.We are to be out to disciple the nations.

Matthew 28:19 (NLT) Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Luke 10:9 (NLT) Heal the sick, and tell them, ‘The Kingdom of God is near you now.’

Beautiful In The Sight Of God

We are rare jewels to God. He loves and cherishes each and every one.

We are all together beautiful to Christ inside and out. He loves us and He wants us to love Him. He created us to be the beauty He sought after. Get into the high places in Christ. He wants us to look at all the situations and things in our lives with Him and through His eyes. We are all treasures and precious jewels in the sight of God. He doesn’t want to lose any but cherish them all.If we are following God and His Will our lips will flow out sweet things that glorify Him and our garments will be as of Him sweet and wonderful aroma. We are His treasures. He hides His secrets inside of us.

We are even to be more excited and stirred up for Him and everything about Him. Ask God to refresh and breathe on us and our fruits. Make them more lovely and come into our secret place and have intimacy with Him.

Song Of Solomon 4:1-16(New Living Translation)

1You are beautiful, my darling,

beautiful beyond words.

Your eyes are like doves

behind your veil.

Your hair falls in waves,

like a flock of goats winding down the slopes of Gilead.

2Your teeth are as white as sheep,

recently shorn and freshly washed.

Your smile is flawless,

each tooth matched with its twin.

3Your lips are like scarlet ribbon;

your mouth is inviting.

Your cheeks are like rosy pomegranates

behind your veil.

4Your neck is as beautiful as the tower of David,

jeweled with the shields of a thousand heroes.

5Your breasts are like two fawns,

twin fawns of a gazelle grazing among the lilies.

6Before the dawn breezes blow

and the night shadows flee,

I will hurry to the mountain of myrrh

and to the hill of frankincense.

7You are altogether beautiful, my darling,

beautiful in every way.

8Come with me from Lebanon, my bride,

come with me from Lebanon.

Come down from Mount Amana,

from the peaks of Senir and Hermon,

where the lions have their dens

and leopards live among the hills.

9You have captured my heart,

my treasure,my bride.

You hold it hostage with one glance of your eyes,

with a single jewel of your necklace.

10Your love delights me,

my treasure, my bride.

Your love is better than wine,

your perfume more fragrant than spices.

11Your lips are as sweet as nectar, my bride.

Honey and milk are under your tongue.

Your clothes are scented

like the cedars of Lebanon.

12You are my private garden, my treasure, my bride,

a secluded spring, a hidden fountain.

13Your thighs shelter a paradise of pomegranates

with rare spices—

henna with nard,

14nard and saffron,

fragrant calamus and cinnamon,

with all the trees of frankincense, myrrh, and aloes,

and every other lovely spice.

15You are a garden fountain,

a well of fresh water

streaming down from Lebanon’s mountains.

Young Woman

16Awake, north wind!

Rise up, south wind!

Blow on my garden

and spread its fragrance all around.

Come into your garden, my love;

taste its finest fruits.

Rely On God For It All…

God will never put more on us than we can handle. Sometimes it is very hard and it seems like it is just too much. But, we have to remember that He won’t put more on us than we can handle. We have to keep pushing ourselves to fight the old flesh(human nature) that says when it gets ruff to just quit and take the easy way out. Also, as we go through these things we are growing and gaining faith and other things that we need to help us with our walk with Christ. So, just trust in God and He will bring you through it, you just have to believe that He will do it.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (New Living Translation)
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

2 Thessalonians 1:7 (New Living Translation)
And God will provide rest for you who are being persecuted and also for us when the Lord Jesus appears from heaven. He will come with his mighty angels,

Worry…a lot of people do a whole lot of this. Even some Christians worry. We are not suppose to worry. Worry shows a lack of faith in God and what He has promised to do for us. It can be hard in the world we live today with all the bills and things, but He said He will provide us with our needs. We might not always have the things we would want (our extras) but we never do without, if we are relying on Him.  He wants to provide us with our needs and even some of our wants if we will truly trust Him and put Him in charge. Instead of worrying about stuff and trying to fix it our way. For His way is greater than ours.

Philippians 4:6 (New Living Translation)
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

2 Corinthians 9:8 (New Living Translation)

And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.

2 Corinthians 9:10 (New Living Translation)
For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.

Matthew 6:25 (New Living Translation)

“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life–whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?

Seek The Kingdom Of God

Matthew 6:33(KJV)
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Wikipedia says:The Greek word basileia “kingdom, kingship” derives from basil “king”.[5]In the synoptic Gospels, Mark and Luke use the Greek term “Basileia tou Theou“, commonly translated in English as “Kingdom of God.”

Matthew, on the other hand, employs the Greek term “Basileia tōn Ouranōn” (Βασιλεία τῶν Ουρανῶν),[Mt 13:45] which is translated as “Kingdom of Heaven” 31 times and “Kingdom of God” only 6 times, with “the Kingdom” with no qualifier appearing a further 10 tens, and “in my Father’s kingdom” once. Some Biblical scholars speculate that the Matthean text adopted the Greek word for “heaven” instead of the Greek word for “God” because, unlike Mark and Luke, it was written by a Jew for a Jewish audience. It was the Jewish practice to avoid using God’s name as an act of piety. In Matthew, “heaven” stands for “God.”[6][7] The basis for these terms being equivalent is found in the apocalyptic literature of Daniel 2:44 where “the ‘God of heaven’ will set up a ‘kingdom’ which will never be destroyed.”

Luke 17:21 (King James Bible)
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

In the Bible Concordance/Dictionary it says that KINGDOM is a rule or realm, dominion of a king

Luke 12:29-31 (New King James Version)

29 And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind.

30 For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things.

31 But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.

As Born Again Believers, Jesus Christ is the Ruler and King over us. His Kingdom dwells inside of us; as He lives inside of us. We should seek after the good things from the spiritual realm(through Jesus). We have to Jesus and His Kingdom before anything. Our thoughts, actions, and ways should pertain to the Kingdom of God and His Ways. When we have our thoughts and desires set on Jesus and His Kingdom, we will be rewarded for our sincerity. But, you will truly only received something if you do the things you do because you love Him and them, not because you will gain something from it.

Do You Promise?

Promises, promises, promises. Lord I promise…Why do we ask God to help or deliver us,just to receive it from God and then they run. God draws us and we answer that call. Then we decide this isn’t what I want to do. So we go ahead and let a little sin creep in and we are fine with it. It don’t convict us because we have put up blinders on our eyes. We have made too many things more important than God for far too long. Most people think in life the most important things are: money, family, jobs, cars, etc… but these things will all fade away. In Ecclesiastes 5 it talks about us making promises to God.

Ecclesiastes 5:4-6 (NLT)

v.4 So when you make a promise to God, don’t delay in following through, for God takes no pleasure in fools. Keep all the promises you make to him.

v.5 It is better to say nothing than to promise something that you don’t follow through on.

v.6 In such cases, your mouth is making you sin. And don’t defend yourself by telling the Temple messenger that the promise you made was a mistake. That would make God angry, and he might wipe out everything you have achieved.

So, we need to put God first. There are many Christians who put God second or third or even further back on their list because they are living after the flesh out of their own desires and not God’s.

Jeremiah 2:20-22 (NLT)

v20 “Long ago I broke the yoke that oppressed you and tore away the chains of your slavery, but still you said,’I will not serve you.’ On every hill and under every green tree, you have prostituted yourselves by bowing down to idols.

v21 But I was the one who planted you, choosing a vine of the purest stock-the very best. How did you grow into this corrupt wild vine?

v22 No amount of soap or lye can make you clean. I still see the strain of your guilt. I, the Sovereign Lord. have spoken!

I hope that this wasn’t the state you are in but if so I hope that this has helped and opened your eyes. God is not a play pretty. He is an almighty and powerful God, who doesn’t tolerate foolishness. So please serve God fully. Make Him your number 1!

Fear…What?!

Wikipedia says, Fear is an emotional response to a perceived threat. It is a basic survival mechanism occurring in response to a specific stimulus, such as pain or the threat of danger.

There are so many fears out there. Some people fear talking, going out, getting shot, getting sick, raped, kidnapped, being tortured, stalked, germs, spirits, and death as well as so many other things. But all of these things can really hinder you. Because fear will make you dwell on these things and have obsessive thoughts and behavior about them.

Luke 12:5 (New International Version )
But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.

Isaiah 8:12 (New Living Translation)
“Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don’t live in dread of what frightens them.

Hebrews 2:15 (King James Bible)
And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

1 Peter 3:14 (New Living Translation)
But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats.

Psalm 55:5 (New International Version)
Fear and trembling have beset me; horror has overwhelmed me.

What we have to understand is that the devil puts fear in our hearts and minds to put us in bondage. When, we are truly free from all of that. The only thing we are to fear is God. Everything else is under us if we are serving Him(God). Lay all your fears and burdens down at Jesus’ feet. He will help you overcome the things you fear. When fear pops its ugly head up,all you have to do is  just call on Him(Jesus) and He will comfort you and protect you from the things that want to take control over you and your life and bound you up. With God there is a freedom and peace like no other. It is impossible to find that comfort and love anywhere else.

Fear holds a lot of people back from doing things, even Christians. We fear that someone will think this about us, or what we say won’t make sense , they won’t like me anymore, and so on and so on. We have to realize that fear is not supposed to be a part of our lives and it don’t have to be.  We have the power and authority over fear and that is through Jesus Christ.

Joy, Become Joyous!

There is so much Joy in the Lord. We can’t even express it right because there is so much joy. We can praise Him with our song, dance, praise, and prayers. Yet still, it seems like that still doesn’t justify Him like we want it to. But, regardless Praise Him and Honor Him because He has and is giving us so much to be joyous about. He will always be there for you. You just have to choose not to leave Him. He will mend all the hurt and pain. So many people are walking around brokenhearted when they should have joy, even Christians. But, it is time to turn it over to Jesus, say, here is all the pain, suffering, heaviness, and all the things that made me brokenhearted. Give them to Him and don’t look back on them. Instead think about Jesus and all the joy He is now able to fill you up with now that you have emptied yourself out for Him. There is freedom in God and in the joy that He brings.

Psalm 34 :1-22(New Living Translation)

1I will praise the LORD at all times.I will constantly speak his praises.

2I will boast only in the LORD;let all who are helpless take heart.

3Come, let us tell of the LORD’s greatness;let us exalt his name together.

4I prayed to the LORD, and he answered me.He freed me from all my fears.

5Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;no shadow of shame will darken their faces.

6In my desperation I prayed, and the LORD listened;he saved me from all my troubles.

7For the angel of the LORD is a guard;he surrounds and defends all who fear him.

8Taste and see that the LORD is good.Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!

9Fear the LORD, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need.

10Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the LORD will lack no good thing.

11Come, my children, and listen to me,and I will teach you to fear the LORD.

12Does anyone want to live a life that is long and prosperous?

13Then keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies!

14Turn away from evil and do good.Search for peace, and work to maintain it.

15The eyes of the LORD watch over those who do right;his ears are open to their cries for help.

16But the LORD turns his face against those who do evil;he will erase their memory from the earth.

17The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help.He rescues them from all their troubles.

18The LORD is close to the brokenhearted;he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

19The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.

20For the LORD protects the bones of the righteous;not one of them is broken!

21Calamity will surely overtake the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be punished.

22But the LORD will redeem those who serve him.No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.

Overcoming Obstacles

There are so many obstacles that pop up in our lives.  Whether they are big or small they are things that we need help with. God will help us overcome these obstacles if we allow Him to or ask Him. When He does these things for us, we should give Him praise. He is worthy of praise and honor. We can’t overcome nothing on our own, it is Only through Him. So, thank  Him and love on Him for helping you with the Big or Small things in your life. Even if it seems like your life is going out of control just praise Him. The praise alone will turn situations around. Our praise can overcome any battle. God might be doing something behind the scene that we don’t see at that moment and it might have even just saved our lives. So in everything you do praise Him.

Psalm 150:2 (NLT)Praise him for his mighty works; praise his unequaled greatness!

Colossians 3:17 (NLT)And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

1Thessalonians 5:18 (NLT)Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
